The person
PJ Espaces Verts is a sole trader — one pair of hands, Josué Poulain’s. He answers the phone, he comes out to quote, and he does the work. You always know who you are dealing with.
Based in Lapalud, in the Grèzes Basses quarter, he works for private homeowners across the area on everything to do with grounds and trees: pruning, felling, hedge trimming, mowing, brush clearing.
Working alone is a choice, and it shows in the result. No subcontractor sent at the last minute, no crew discovering the site on the morning: the person who looked at the tree with you is the person who climbs it. It limits how many jobs fit in a week — which is also why a quote is booked a few days ahead.
How the work is done

Equipment
Most of the work is done on rope. Climbing rather than lifting is what makes it possible to work on a tree hemmed in by a house, a terrace or a pool, where no machine could reach — and it avoids damaging the ground around it.
Equipment is checked and sharpened before every job. A blunt chain tears the wood instead of cutting it: the wound heals badly, and the tree carries it for years.
